Hi there! I’m Laka.

Welcome to my website — a space I built from the front-end to back-end that reflects my hands-on journey into cloud computing, web development, and information systems. This site is more than just a portfolio; it's a working demonstration of my skills in action — from designing responsive user interfaces to deploying and securing cloud infrastructure.

My passion for IT, especially in systems administration and cybersecurity, has been shaped by real-world projects. One of the most impactful was deploying this very site using an AWS EC2 Linux instance within a customized VPC. I implemented security groups, IAM role-based access control, a NAT Gateway, and Route 53 DNS configuration. I also set up an Apache web server with HTTPS using OpenSSL and maintained secure remote access via encrypted SSH.

On the front-end, I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create a responsive and accessible design. Behind the scenes, I applied scripting skills with Bash and Node.js to automate processes and enhance performance. My work also involves version control with Git, API testing using Postman, and secure database interactions with both MS SQL Server and MongoDB.

Deploying the website involved configuring an AWS EC2 Linux instance within a customized Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). I established security groups, a NAT Gateway, and precise networking rules to optimize security and performance. Additionally, I implemented AWS Route 53 for domain name resolution, assigned an elastic IPv4 address, and configured an Apache web server to host my website files.

With hands-on experience in Microsoft Server environments (Active Directory, IIS), networking protocols (TCP/IP, IPv6, VLANs, OSPFv3), and AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53), I bring a full-stack, security-focused approach to every project. I’ve deployed secure web applications using role-based access control, subnetting strategies, and firewall rules, ensuring scalable and efficient systems. My expertise extends to database management (MS SQL Server, MongoDB) and encryption practices using OpenSSL.

In development, I built a full-stack Node.js app with EJS and MongoDB, integrating JWT-based authentication, custom middleware, and API testing with Postman. I automate tasks and streamline workflows with scripting in Python, Bash, and AWK, applying regular expressions for data handling. Combined with version control using Git and project collaboration tools, I deliver secure, reliable solutions that reflect both technical depth and practical execution.
